Ragnarök received almost universal critical acclaim when it was released on PS5 back in November 2022 for being a sequel that tackles complex narrative themes in its compelling plot, as well as having masterfully designed combat.

Events pick up sometime after 2018’s God of War, as the story again follows Kratos and his son Atreus as they are forced to face the consequences of their actions in the last game.

In recent years, Sony has increasingly committed to releasing more of its first-party titles on PC, with the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Helldivers 2 all making their way onto Steam.

And now another of its most popular games is set to join them. Read on for all the launch details for God of War Ragnarök.

What time and date will God of War Ragnarök be released on PC?

God of War Ragnarök will be released on PC on 19th September 2024 at 4pm UK time.

Developer Jetpack Interactive, who ported the 2018 predecessor to PC, has returned to work alongside Santa Monica Studio on this version as well.

In a blog post from Sony, the PC version will include the option to play the game at a true 4K resolution and offer support for ultra widescreen, if you have the relevant hardware.

Included for free will also be the Valhalla DLC, which landed on PS5 as a Christmas treat in December 2023. It followed Kratos as he attempts to overcome his past, taking on the trials of Valhalla.

There is no information yet on whether or not the game will run on Steam Deck, but considering the previous title in the series does, we are hopeful Ragnarök will work on the handheld device too.

Can I pre-order God of War Ragnarök on PC?
